Niles River Fest - Mr. and Ms. Riverfest Contest

Niles Riverfest begins on Thursday, August 5 with the 2010 Mr. and Ms. Riverfest Pageant. It will be held at 7:30 PM., at the Riverfront Park amphitheater.

This festive contest is open to all men and women over the age of 18. Participants are asked to enter as a couple. This is not your typical "beauty contest." Judges are looking for individuals who are able to represent Riverfest in the community well—and support what Riverfest is all about. "Riverfest is a celebration of one of this area’s most popular natural resources—the mighty St. Joseph River," said Aimee Yeager, Mr. and Ms. Riverfest Coordinator. Contestants will be judged on stage presence, personality and an interview with the panel of judges.

Mr. and Ms. Riverfest 2010 will receive a crown, sash and be awarded hundreds of dollars in gifts and prizes, and the first runners up will receive special gifts as well. The reigning Mr. and Ms. Riverfest 2009 will pass on their crowns to the new winners. You'll see the newly crowned Mr. and Ms. Riverfest at many of the Riverfest events either participating, handing out awards, or just having fun.
